The prophet Elijah is hiding in the mountainous wilderness in fear for his life.

The Lord calls upon Elijah and tells him to come out from the cave and stand on

the mountain before him.

“A strong wind and earthquake comes but the Lord is not in the wind.

Then a ffire - but the Lord is not in the ffire - and after the ffire - a still small voice. When Elijah heard it he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and

stood at the entrance of the cave.”

* First Book of Kings 19:11

Who can stand face to face before the Lord without calling out for his mercy?

The white bird, the Holy Spirit, calls in his Still Small Voice, lovingly and hauntingly, to every living heart.
